Ingredients
- 2 sticks unsalted butter (browned; cooled)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs + 1 yolk (room temp)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups dark chocolate chunks (chopped from a bar; not chips)
- Flaky sea salt for finishing
Method
- Brown butter (4-6 min); cool until firm-but-soft
- Cream butter + sugars 3 minutes
- Add eggs + vanilla; mix
- Add flour + baking soda + salt; mix just to combine
- Fold in chocolate chunks
- REFRIGERATE DOUGH 24-48 HOURS (the secret)
- Bake at 375°F for 11-13 minutes
- Sprinkle flaky salt while warm
