i just hate paying so much for insurance everytime i rent a car.
I don’t live in the US.
I own a luxury car in my home country. i have full insurance for it.
when i go to the US for vacation, would my auto insurance cover my rental car?

i know that it works if you live in the US. im just not sure if it works if i live outside the US

4 Thoughts on Would my auto insurance for my own car cover the costs of my rental car?

To find the cheeeeeapest car insurance you gotta do a lotta shopping and obviously nobody wants to go to every car insurance company one by one, so what i did was go to http://xil.in/autoins/ and they gave me quotes to 10 companies in less than one hour

Call you insurance agent…if you use a platinum charge card for the rental you can get insurance benefits from there too. The only one who can answer this ? is you agent

You would have to contact your insurance agent to find out the answer. Even in the US, not all insurance companies will transfer the insurance to a rental vehicle. Plus, a US insurance policy will only cover you in the US and Canada most times. So, we couldn’t go over to Europe and rent a car and be covered by our insurance policy back home. I would think that it would be the same for you and you would need to purchase the insurance that the rental company offers.
