    Ask them and find out. Usually if you have any kind of updated or extra security for your home, they give a small discount. It will just depend on the policy of your provider. It will also depend on the kind of equipment you have and if it is recognized as quality home protection equipment.

    No, cameras alone would not qualify as a security system. Most insurers require an alarm system that sounds an alarm locally (on the premises) or is connected to a central station monitoring company.

    Cameras aren’t a deterrent unless they are functioning. You may likely get a discount for deadbolt locks, alarm system and/or fire extinguisher. Also, you’re more likely to get coverage if the company has your automobile policy.
