Home owners insurance protects and pays:

You if your house is damaged and needs to be rebuilt.
People that get hurt in your home.
Covers your personal belongings if your house is in a fire for instance.

There are many other coverages but its just like auto insurance, only you are insuring your house.
    Hope this helps.

YOU need to protect YOUR property from fire , floods, weather , thieves, vandals !

If Someone Gets Hurt on your property also a large law suit can lose your home !

SO shop around get best rate for maximum protection of full value of house to restore it in case it’s damged by fire or weather !

May i suggest Travelers insurance I have them and got better coverage than state farm for $ 300 less per year !

Damage to the home. Most coverage is complete except for earthquake and flood, which can be procured separately. Policies also include liability, in case someone gets hurt walking up your sidewalk. When the wind blows a tree over on your house, you want them to pay for it. Bla Bla

If you pay cash for your house, you are not required to purchase Homeowners insurance, but you would be very foolish not to. This covers replacing the house if it is struck by lightning and burns to the ground. It also covers theft and many other perils plus liability if someone gets hurt on your property.
