as I understand it, the gov. will give vouchers, and the elderly will buy their own from private companies… but…
what private company would be crazy enough to bother to sell health insurance to an elderly person?
it’s like selling car insurance to a habitual bad driver?
when we all get old, the vast majority of us start having very serious and expensive health problems? it’s worse than selling flood insurance in a flood plain, and companies just DON’T DO THAT… at least not for any price anyone would ever want to actually pay…
am I missing something here?
how much are people saving up? how much do you expect it to cost?
what’s the average savings for the average person vs. the average cost per year? even in your mind, what do you expect? 5 years of coverage for the very best savers?
and that’s all we’re saving up for in retirement, to pay our medical bills? not trips, not the vineyard, not the old corvette remodel… but medical bills?
