Article Score0

My score is below 500, which is horrible. The only thing left on my report that is unpaid is a charged off card at $ 700 and a phone bill for when i cancelled a couple phones for $ 500, but will be paid off in 2 weeks. Now I have 1 card that i just got this year that i pay on time in full every month. I need to improve my score to put myself in position to buy a house next year, whats the best and fastest way or is more score just too bad?

2 Thoughts on Whats the best way to improve my credit and the fastest?

Improving your credit does take some time. But the best way is to pay your bills on time every month.

-Pay down your debts as much as you possibly can each month.

    -Always pay on time.

-If you pay off any negative/collections accounts on your credit report, try to negotiate beforehand with the collector/creditor for them to delete the account from your credit report entirely once you pay. Get the agreement in writing before making any payment! (This is the only way that paying off a bad debt actually helps your credit score, unfortunately.)

-Get a secured credit card and use it responsibly. Charge only small amounts on it and pay it in full every month.

-Try credit repair. It CAN be done legally, no matter what anyone says. You can do it yourself, or find a reputable company to do it for you.
