I’ve also been paying my bills on time. I am thinking of buying a brand new car. Maybe a Nissan Altima. Approximately what would my credit rating me? Help?

1 Thought on What would my credit rating probably be after having a credit card for 1 year with $900 credit limit?

There is no way to tell exactly what your credit rating would be with so little information. Credit scoring is not an exact science and there are a lot of variables which are factored into the math.

A card with a year’s worth of positive payment history is a good sign plus you have been current with you bills and unless there are any derogatory remarks within the last 2 years, I would venture a guess and say your score is somewhere in the mid 600s.

There are a few of ways you can figure out your score:
    1. If your loan application is rejected, your lender is required to give you a copy of your credit report and your score.
    2. You can buy your credit score information from FICO
    3. You can use one of the other free online free scoring services like Credit Karma. The score will not be the same as the FICO score lenders use but it will give you a rough idea.

P.S: Lenders these days use the AA FICO score for car loans. If your installment loan (mortgage, previous car loan) history is clean, you should not have any issues getting approved.
