I called for a quote from one place, and was told that they couldn’t write a policy. The other place (Geico) doesn’t underwrite for someone whose house was built in the 40’s.

How does a dog Distribute aggressive behavior? You mean displayed aggressive behavior.

I don’t believe any home owners insurance writes liability insurance for dogs, unless you are getting home owners insurance for your home. I believe when I got my home owners insurance with State Farm they asked if I owned a dog, when i told them yes, they asked if it was an aggressive breed, I said no (I have a Weimaraner not an aggressive breed) and I got my home owners policy but it covers my home, and belongings don’t know how it would work if someone got bit.

If you own a dog on the aggressive breed list, then you will probably have trouble getting insured.

Try the big companies like State Farm, Farmers, and All State.

We have a GSD so it’s on the list for Insurance Companies. We had no problem getting
a policy and live in FL so Hurricane possibility every year. One thing, be honest about
what you do have. If you tell them you have a little dog and have an Atika, they can
actually not pay a claim or cancel you on the spot. Try Olympus Insurance Co.
