Hi
I went to the dentist on Friday to have a tooth extracted they gave me 3 times the normal amount of freezing and the tooth wouldn’t freeze Xray’s showed NO abcess or infection) they started the extraction and broke the side of my tooth and i couldn’t stand the pain any longer of having a tooth pulled that wasn’t frozen. believe me I tried.. The dentist said I have to go to the hospital to be put out to get it pulled. so they left me with a half extracted broken tooth and sent me home with nothing.. i ended up at emerg that night as when the freezing came out of my jaw I was in so much pain. ER dr’s don’t pull teeth so they gave me Percocet which gives me headaches and eye pain but is better then tooth pain The ER dr is trying to get me an apt for monday and I am supposed to get on a plane on thursday…
I need to know if OHIP covers dental emergency’s…
But does OHIP cover this??

1 Thought on Tooth wouldn’t freeze will OHIP cover extraction under General Anethetic?

In general, the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover dental services. OHIP may cover some dental surgery, if it is done in a hospital. So yours might be covered. You need to contact them and ask.
