I am going to be renting my first apartment VERY soon, when I went to talk to all the appartments in the area I over heard a snippet of the Leaser’s conversation with the new leasee and it was about renters insurance. What questions should I ask about renters insurance? How do I know what is too much to pay for renters insuracne if I don’t have many friends with apartments and most of them don’t have it? Any other good questions I should ask? Thank you in advance!

Renter’s insurance is optional and cheap–shop several agents. It covers your possessions in case of burglary or fire. The owner’s insurance covers his structure, not your contents.
