My son recently had surgery on his hand. There were a total of five bills including the emergency room, hospital, surgeon, anesthologist and one other. Four of them mailed their bill to my address and they were promptly paid (but were in my 18 year old son’s name). The bill from the anestheologist went straight to a collection agency, never sent to my address. Evidently he uses a third party billing company. I have a friend that used to work in medical billing and she said some of their clients do that routinely, just skip billing the customer and turn everything immediatley over to a collection agency. I’m getting nowhere with the billing company. Has anyone here ever had to deal with a situation like this? How did you resolve it?
