In the last few weeks, I’ve signed up for and received the following cards:
Amex Blue Preferred Cash – $ 5,000 limit
Chase Freedom – $ 3,000 Limit
Discover IT – $ 2,000 limit
I saw the Amex CLI thread and read that you no longer had to wait 60 days for a CLI. I also spoke to a few CSR’s and they all suggested that I ask for the increase due to my excellent history with American Express. I have a Platinum card and have had an excellent payment history with them. So I applied for a $ 5,000 line increase and was turned down. Due to the fact that I had a number of credit inquiries lately, and had a number of them 2 years ago when I applied for a mortgage, my experian shows roughly 15 Inquries. EQ shows 8 and TU shows 5. At least 5 inquries fall of by November of this year. Do you think I should garden for the next few months and apply for line increases in December? I know that I can apply for more increases across all three of the new cards by the end of the summer but I don’t want to get turned down again. What do you guys think?
