Hi guys. Lurked here for a while, soaking up the valuable information in these forums. I’ve had an old AT&T bill (from late 2009, $ 730) on my credit report for a while now.
After reading all the information on this forum, especially with regards to EOS-CCA, I decided to try to get them to do a PFD in exchange for a settlement of 30%.The person I initially talked to seemed open to it, until I mentioned I wanted a letter stating that the account balance is zero, the account is now closed, and that it would be deleted from all credit reports (TransUnion, Equifax, Experian). He put me on my hold, then a supervisor jumped on and said that EOS CCA does not do Pay For Delete, and refused to budge from that stance. I asked him what it would take to do a PFD (since 30% settlement clearly wasn’t enough), and he stayed adamant that EOS does not do PFD under any circumstance.
I’m at a loss for what to do now. Do I call back tomorrow and try 50%, or even paying the full amount to see if they’d do a PFD then? Or should I just go the letter route?
I read on here that someone had email contacts to EOS-CCA, and that several people had success getting a PFD that way. Could anyone PM me said email contact(s)? Would be hugely appreciated, as while this negative account is the only blemish on my credit report, it is really hurting it.
