Hi, so I’m in underwriting for a mortgage. I have one outstanding collection. I removed the dispute comments from all three bureaus on the item by calling them, and it was fairly easy. I’ve got approval through automated underwriting, and manual review looks good.
I come home tonight and there is a form letter from the CA: “we don’t have enough information to investigate your recent dispute letter….” **bleep**? I never sent them a dispute letter. I don’t dispute a thing. Collect away on your $ 140 debt. I guess I’ll have to call the three CRA shortly and remove the dispute comments again. Or perhaps the lender will only do a soft pull on the Fico score before closing, and not the entire report? I’m super angry at the game playing and just want to sue the CA. Maybe I will.
Talk me off a ledge…..
