How are we supposed to know what is our actual credit score number? For example, Experian might give a 657, Trans Union might give 683, and Equifax might give 545. This is just an example. Out of all these numbers how do I know my real credit score? Why can’t we just have one instead of three so it is not as confusing? Thanks.

Your credit score # is the average of the three.

your credit score is all three of those numbers. lets take buying a home for example. when the lender runs your credit, they are getting what is called a tri-merge credit report. this is a report that has all 3 bureaus on it, as well as the scores for each. auto finance places usually use transunion. a lot of places will use the middle score as a good indicator of your credit. however, it does not make the other scores any less valid.

all lenders will use the middle score to risk your loans. Sorry there are three companies and all score differently and not all creditors report to all three as there are cost for them to do so.

As previously stated all three are your real credit scores. It’s a combination of several things first all lenders do not report to all credit bureaus and each credit bureau has a different way of calculating your score then add in the fact that there is 2 different systems in use now FICO which scores from 300 to 850 and Vantage which scores from 501 to 990 and you begin to understand.

Now to even confuse things more there are also 3 different types of credit bureaus that can be looked at there is the standard which is the one you see on the net then there is the auto enhanced which is the one that car dealers and lenders look at and finally there is the factual which is the one that mortgage companies look at.

So between the 3 different bureaus, 2 different scoring systems and 3 types of bureaus every one can have as many as 9 different scores.

normally they will get the median score. but if u are considering on taking a loan/mortgage, then the other factor will come into the equation for them to get a decision on your current standings
