My step kids came home with lice from there mothers house. We’ve treated with the chemicals . And I still cant seem to get rid of the nits(eggs) what can I do?
Well I talked to a peditrician today and found out the lice are becomming amune to OTC( over the counter) treatments. (nasty little buggers!) And she told me to get antiseptic mouth wash and soak the hair in it for 2 hours to kill the lice. Rinse & comb and then, soak hair in vinegar for an hour. The vinegar loosens the bind on the nits grip in the hair and makes it easer to comb out. and then wash hair with dawn dish soap. Wish me luck!

Takes lots of patience and lots of combing the hair with the nit comb.

I’m going through the same thing w/ my daughter. 3 treatments later (including one prescription treatment) and no luck. The mouthwash/vinegar is something I’ve never heard but will have to keep in mind. Today I just received in the mail the Robi-comb. It’s a small electric comb that basically shocks lice/eggs and kills them. I got it on walgreens.com and it was $ 38 total with tax and s&h. Not sure if it works yet but got good reviews.
