I lived in the same house for 14 months. I always paid the rent on time. Is there anyway to have my own or that I added to my credit file?

2 Thoughts on my rent can be put on my credit file?

I was going to rent my house out, so as a landlord I signed up for credit/background screening services. The company has options to report rent on the credit report. I just Google’d your question…try this company: There are other sites like this too. You can have back rent reported up to 24 months with this company, and it will help you build credit. Good luck.

Edit: I did some more digging and the service fee on rent-reporters is only $ 9.95 and for $ 34.95 they will go and back report all your rent payments. Their goal is to turn renters into home owners It is a fabulous idea at an affordable cost. Look into it. Contrary to the answer below, I think this is an inexpensive way to get folks to pay their rent on time while repairing their damaged credit. It creates good will between the landlord and the tenant. Hope this helps.

sure he could but it is not going to happen. It costs a lot of money to report good credit experiences. Not fair free to report bad credit and any creditor can do it but to report good is very expensive.
