    VHS went out with Beta years ago..

    Ok.. it’s called VA and no they are not out of business …yet.
    unless you mean FHA.. and no they are not out of business..yet.

    VA is the veteran’s admin–they provide medical care for
    wounded vets and $ for houses for vets

    FHA insures loans, they do not make them.

    FHA and/or the VA NEVER funded home mortgages. They INSURED them. That means a private bank was willing to give you a loan, because the government, though FHA and the VA promised to pay the bank if you did not.

    NOTE: to the first two answers: The VA does, or did, insure mortgages for veterans.
