My husband got the job of superintendant. He worked alone for 2 years, as I was working elsewhere at the time. I lost my job and from time to time I started to help my husband. Manager once found this said that either I should stop doing any work or be in the contract, due to insurance issues. This manager explained that should I get a job elsewhere it will be no problem to take my name out of the contract. Three years later I’m still at the payroll and last year I didn’t work in the building cause of medical reasons. Four months ago I received the job offer but new manager didn’t want to make a decision and went to the Board of directors of our condominium. But they said they preferred to have 2 people in the building for the same money.
My friend says it’s not against a low if I’d work at another place and be on the payroll in the building but I have to sign contract promising not to work at the different place. They gave me written permission to work part time somewhere else but I want to work full time.
Is it illegal to work at two places full time?
What is the best way to solve this problem?
Please help. Thanks a lot.

It is not illegal to work any number of jobs.

You must work within the terms of whatever agreements you have (preferable written) so if one contract x says you cannot work under y terms, you violate the x contract if you do and the other party to the x contract has some recourse.

If you promise to do one thing and do another, you are liable for civil recourse.
