With property prices, taxes, and insurance as high as they are here in FL right now, it might not be as good an idea as it once was. You’ll have a much harder time making money off of it as a rental, than you would have in years past (before our bad hurricane year).

What type of homework have you done in the Fla. real estate market? Is the market soft or buyer driven? And specifically in what areas you are interested. It is impossible to do too much research for a major investment. What is your risk/reward level? How much are you willing to lose and how much time do you have to meet your buying/ selling qbjectives? Who will be the available landlord?(manage the property with what related costs) Have you worked up a balance sheet on all the possibilities of success or failure? Why is this project important to you? How did you become interested? Is it hard to clear and honest answers? Good luck

It’s always good idea to buy properties. It’s just a matter of whether it ideal consideration the probably consequences – i.e. susceptible to several hurricanes a year. Can it be insured? Can you afford to gamble?

Renting is different from owning. Whether it’s gone the next time you’re there, it doesn’t matter to you.
