Not that much,I rented a 3 bedroom house in Michigan and insured contents for $ 50,000. It was about $ 100 per year.Contact local insurance agents for estimates.

I live in MN in a 2 bedroom 900 square foot apartment in a very urban area where you’d expect higher premiums. State Farm insurance was the cheapest when I was shopping for renter’s insurance – $ 92/year (http://www.statefarm.com/). Your rate will all depend on the apartment building and it’s features such as smoke detecters, sprinklers, building material, location, etc. Get as many quotes as you can!

Probably around $ 15/month. Renters insurance is so inexpensive, I’m always amazed by the number of people that don’t have it.

    The standard policy – with $ 100,000 liability, $ 20,000 contents, $ 250 deductible, should run you about $ 150 a year.

Not many companies will sell you less than $ 20,000, and no one I know of will sell you less than $ 15,000.

Cheap!! Mine is free, actually it was $ 75 a year, then with the multi policy discount from my ins. co. it made my auto policy drop 75 a yr so, added a renter policy, and pay exactly the sameas before.
Call you auto agent and ask them if they have multi policy discounts, most do, depending on your policy.
