I am currently in good standing with my mortgage. My company opened a new office on the other side of town and my wife’s company recently moved in the same area. We both carpool and take a toll way to get to work (1 hour drive one way). We want to sell our house to move closer to our work to save time and money. What options do we have? I feel stuck!

    1. Sell your home for enough to pay the mortgage and pay off the mortgage.

    2. Rent your current home out (tell your mortgage company, there may be provisions in your mortgage that prevent this). Depending on your income and your wive’s income and credit score, you may be able to purchase a second home or you will need to rent another place.

There is no way to walk away from your mortgage in good standing.

    Good luck!
