your name wouldn’t be on it if you didn’t sign the mortgage documents
as it is not in your name you cannot find out who else’s name is on the loan

public records. if you know the address, you can look it up, in some places even online. it will tell you all the info about the mortgage in public records. if you just know the account number, you can be slick and call the mortgage company and ask where they are mailing the statements because you didn’t get the last one.

The central appraisal district in your city can be contacted and provide this information. If this doesn’t work ask for their web site in which you enter the address and the owners appear. Are you sure you need to know? Divorces are tough and hurt feelings can escalate. Good luck to you. Use your good judgment.

If you have the address go to the county accessor’s office and give them the address to look up by the parcel number. All deed’s of trust are recorded there and the information on the parcel and how much was paid is public record and tax records. I am not sure you really want to know. Your divorce attorney should be requesting all financial holding documents from him anyway. If it’s an asset that he aquired while you were still married where did the money come from, and guess what, your probably entitled to part of it. Hmmmm… time to get your attorney doing what your paying them for. If your county has a searchable website go to the assessor’s site and search by his name and it should pop out a deed of trust recording number. When you have the number go down and have them look it up. If he is being that dishonest I would check into doing a UCC filing search to find out what else he has signed for that you may be liable for. A UCC filing is a document you sign when buying things that are large and not titled. For instance a Mobile Home would have a UCC-1 filing not a title as it’s not a vehicle or real estate. Good Luck.
