virtually all of these websites will fail in the goal you have.

the government doesn’t bail out individuals — that’s what bankruptcy court is for.

There are no government grants to get out of debt. Right now, the only government program that can be said to help out with debt is the mortgage refinancing/modification program.

The only official, ‘scam-free” U.S. grant web site is the government’s – http://www.grants.gov

If you take a look, you will find most if not all of the grants are for registered nonprofit organizations, and definitely not for individuals. There is no ‘grant’ that will pay your bills. You may qualify for local governmen assistance, such as food stamps, or subsidized housing, if your income falls within the eligibility requirements, but you need to check the web site for the city / state in which you live to find the programs and how to make your application.
