Like many Americans I am in real danger of falling behind on my mortgage and in turn having my home foreclosed on. I am trying to be proactive and prevent this from happening. I have heard from several loan mod companies, including one called Clear Concepts ( I was wondering if anybody has used this company or can refer a reputable company. I have tried to go through the loan mod process myself, with Citimortgage, Inc. and it is growing ever apparent that they have no real interest in helping me but more along the lines of stringing me along in order to charge me more late fees and other penalties.

4 Thoughts on has anyone had luck using a home loan modification company?

So far I have not heard of a single legitiamate company, only people getting ripped off.

You can call your states real estate board, see if they even has a license.

edit: The Better Business Bureau does not show this company even existing, the odds are about 100% it is a scam

There are many legit companies out there that can help and many that are scams. I have done a few in the past and have seen others do a good job getting a loan mod done. You have to really look into any company you are thinking about dealing with. Some charge you very high fees, while others don’t. Find out as much information online about them as you can.

You can also look for a non-profit organization in your area that can help you out and won’t charge you. It is very difficult to get a loan mod done and most will not qualify. It’s not as simple as it sounds…it’s all numbers and they have to work for you to get approved.

    Good luck!

I have not heard of a single legitimate company or attorney that has done one loan mod, only people getting ripped off. Lenders will not even talk to anyone that is not on the loan.
