I have heard of government home incentives for first home buyers during this recession.. How do I find them in the area of Las Vegas which has been hit hard by foreclosure? Does anyone know how I can come about this or know any incentives as of June 2012?

Find a real estate agent and start looking for a whole. The agent will know what is going on and put you in touch with lenders who will help you. Right now most buyer assistance is for buyers of huge lots of rental properties, but agents and bankers will now what is out there.

Good question and I can point you to what is available. The link below, to your state’s housing department, will take you to a program that is offered by most states that offers both a special loan program and help with down payment and closing costs if your income is at or below the median income. Mortgage brokers tend to not mention this program because it requires more paperwork and limits how much they can make from the loan, so call the office directly and ask for a referral for a loan officer who has a lot of experience with the program. Trust me, you don’t want one who is learning as they go on this program.

    Good Luck

Those incentives for first time homebuyers may have ended last year. A real estate agent in your area would be able to tell you what is available.
