He has three more weeks until his insurance kicks in on a $ 500 weekly medication. But for now, what is a good amount of garlic (dosage) to get by until his insurance comes through? Also, included home remedies should stray from blood thinning properties due to his blood clot in his lung.

He should not wait for the insurance to start. He should pay $ 1500, of his own money, to receive the medication for the next three weeks, without using insurance. He can then use the insurance for the 4th (and subsequent) week of medication, if he is not already cured by then.

I sincerely doubt if any home remedy is going to help your fathers condition. I would also say that he needs to get onto proper medication ASAP. So, I would just pay the $ 500 each week until the insurance kicks in. Otherwise, speak to the doctor about cheaper, alternate medications (if any) for the next 3 weeks. You don’t want to muck around with this, it sounds serious and requires prompt, correct medication or your dad could end up really sick.
