I recently entered into a contract with the seller of a short sale property to purchase the property. On 11/21 the listing agent acknowledged receipt of our accepted counter offer and explained she will take it to the bank as soon as possible. As of today, 6 days later, the status on the home still shows active. I understand the MLS rules state a listing agent shall change the status within 48 hourse and my agent has sent an email inquiring about the delay. Her response basically said she will change it in a week or so.
My question to the redfin community is: Is there any risk for not pushing to have the property listed as pending or pending – backup offers accepted? After a year of searching, this is the closest I’ve come to finding a home to buy… So I’m a bit worried about anything that might put me at a disadvantage.*
Thanks in advance for any help!*
