Today I went to an estate sale and picked up these odd cards.

They are the size of checks, printed on thick, blue paper. They say “The Northern Assurance Company” on the left with a sheild and a lion, It also says”limited of London” and under that “Western department Chicago, Ill.” and also “Losses paid over $ 155,000,000″. then on the right, it says what it covers, such as ” FIRE, WINDSTORM, AUTOMOBILE,EXPLOSION, USE & OCCUPANCY, RENTS & RENTAL VALUE, RIOT & CIVIL COMMOTION, INSURANCE”.

Does anyone know what these are, or how old or where they came from? Anything at all?
