I am almost 29, but only got my license at 26 because I never needed to drive before. I seem to be paying at the same rate a teenage driver would be. According to insurance companies, I live in a “high risk” area, so premiums are much higher in my city than even neighboring towns. I own a 2004 Hyundai Elantra. I own a home and am married.

I have not completed driver’s education training, but have done 15 hours of driving lessons with local driving schools. I have never gotten any tickets or been in an accident.

Can anyone give me a suggestion for ways to save on my car insurance? The cheapest quote we’ve gotten for me and my husband (who is 30 and had his license since 16) was $ 4,500 for the year. My portion being around $ 3,000+.
