that specifically state it? Hi, I’m a student looking to get my first credit card so I can start building credit. I’m looking at some of the student credit cards offered by Visa and Mastercard, and noticing that some of the cards state that you have “0% liability on unauthorized purchases”, while others do not. If the card doesn’t specifically state that you have no liability, does that mean you ARE liable if someone uses your credit card? I thought I heard somewhere that all credit cards have to have minimal/no liability under federal law, is that true?

Oh, and please no comments warning me about the dangers of credit cards- I’m fully aware of the hazards and I swear I’m only looking to get a card to start responsibly building credit. Thanks!
