My 89 year old mother turned on the stove in the middle of the night and burned down a home owned by a family member. My renters liability insurance is $ 100,000. Owners insurance paid him over $ 189,000 in damages. He is getting letters from an attorney about other damages he lost. He seems to think he can get more money. I keep asking him if he is going to join a lawsuit against me. I am fearful I will be sued. No family memeber helped me. I was exhausted having sole responsibility for my mother in her condition. I rarely got sleep. could her fire even be considered negligent.
