    No. Your credit score is only what is reported by the creditors into your own social security number (which they now cross check with name, address, and date of birth due to all the mistakes). Adding someone to your account doesn’t change your score; it may also help them re-establish their credit if it is reported in their name also and paid on time.

    If you go to purchase property or open an account jointly with this person, you may have problems. Mortgage lenders usually use the middle score of the lowest borrower. One way to deal with this is to have the higher score borrower buy the property (if they can), and you can later add the other party to the deed if you choose.
