No you don’t need house insurance at all. Many people don’t have insurance for their apartments, however you may want to look into renter’s insurance. Renter’s insurance is much cheaper than the insurance you would take out on a house that you own and will cover the items you keep in your apartment.

The owner of the property should have house insurance to protect their investment in the event of a fire or other disaster. Their insurance will cover the property itself, not the contents.

The person living in the rented property should have renter’s insurance, which will cover their own personal belongings.

No, you don’t have to have it. But, if the home burns down, the owner’s insurance only pays to rebuild the home. You will lose all of your belongings. So, it’s worth it to get renter’s insurance.

No you do not. The landlord of the property is responsible for house insurance but you can take out a contents insurance if you wish

It is up to the landlord if they require it but it is so cheap you should buy it anyway.
