When I move into my apartment I was wondering if I should buy a home phone. Is it necessary? Couldn’t I just use my cell phone? If anybody knows, thank you very much! I really appreciate it!

NO! I have home phone and internet plus a cell phone….the only calls i receive are from telemarketers. Everyone still calls my cell phone, so my home phone is just a waste and i need to get rid of it

you do not need to get a land line phone if you do not want… but it depends on how the door intercom works in the building that you are moving into – some door bell systems connect thru the phone wiring from the main telephone closet in the building then feed to the apartments, if this is the case, then you are likely to need a phone and probably a phone line as well…

if you want/have an alarm system with monitoring you will also need a phone line…

if your cell phone reception is poor in your building you may want to consider a phone line, or a cell phone repeater or femocell to improve your cell phone reception in your home…

the choice is yours, it is not a requirement that you have a phone if you do not want one…
