Can someone who’s 67 qualify for a 30 year loan. He has a good paying job, excellent credit, but not enough money saved to pay for the house in cash. Do banks consider age when determining whether to approve a mortgage?

If he’ll be denied, will adding a son, who’s still in college and has no income yet on the mortgage application help the 67 year old dad get the loan he wants?

No because it is against the law. If his credit history is good and his income and assets support the loan, there should be no problem.
