In theory, yes. Practically, no………….because this will cause deflation and the decrease in the value of money. It could spark another downturn, which would in turn be a vicious downward cycle.

no coz you cant just print off money that would cause hyperinflation, where money becomes worthless. i remember learning at school about all this when it happend in germany , i think it was the 1920’s or something i cant remember when exactly but it wasnt good. i remember learning something like their goverment had to change their currency to fix the problem.

They have been doing this for quite a while already. They call it “quantitative easing” to keep the schmucks in the dark about what they are doing. The result is inflation. That’s why the price of bread has gone from 19 cents a loaf to nearly 4 bucks in 40 years (comparing the same brand).

The debts always get paid one way or another. Zimbabwe printed dollars, and now people cannot buy a loaf of bread for a trillion Z-dollars, if they can find a loaf of bread at all. You want the price of a loaf of bread at a trillion US dollars? That’s what happens when they print paper money – you end up with expensive toilet paper.

    Yes. They COULD do that.

But that would devalue our own money….lead to further recession, riots, and chaos in general….I have faith that they won’t do that.

That will not work because USA has a fixed worth value. Printing more money will only cause inflation. The value of a US dollar will decrease because there will be too much avalible money. If 13 trillion dollars is suddenly printed, the price of everything will increase. An example of infaltion is the ecomony in China. A dollar in the US is equal to a little over 7 Yen which is like a dollar but used in china

No because the more money they print the more worthless there money would be. Not only would it be a headacke to try to give everyone equivelent money but at the end of the day it would hurt the econemy more then it would help it.

Thank goodness you are not in charge … if they just printed money to pay the bill, the money would become worthless.

I suggest reading some books on economics.

Because if the government prints more money then nothing will really change because the value of the dollar will go down, and people will get more money, but it will just be worth less so we’d be going in a circle.
