Touch Pro 2 contact manager

Hi all, I am running WM 6.5 on my Verizon TP2. Overall, I am happy with the phone. However, the default Touch Flo contact manager is horrible. I will often select a contact to view their info, then go back to the list of contacts using the on screen Back button. This takes you to the top of the list instead of where you were previously which is very frustrating when you have a long list of contacts.   Also, there is no convenient way to change the way ALL contacts are displayed. You can change them one by one but can't change them all to be First Name Last Name instead of Last, First that I can find.   My first question is, how do I change the default contact manager in Touch Flo to be the Windows contact manager instead of the stripped down HTC version? In other words, when I click on My Favorites, then click on All Contacts, I want to be taken to the Windows contact manager instead of the HTC version. The same goes for the Contacts link on the Phone screen.   My second question is, any good alternative contact managers out there that address the problems with the default contact manager? I am happy with the Touch Flo interface and want to continue to use it but their version of the contact manager needs to go.   Your help is greatly appreciated.   Thanks, hiaxis

"Data Call Failure" Error Msg With Modem Link Running

After FINALLY getting my HTC Imagio to work with VZW Access Manager so that I could tether it to my Windows 7 laptop and access the Internet when I'm away from home, I find now that an error message keeps popping-up on my phone whenever I start the Modem Link service! The error message says "Data Call Failure" in the title bar and reads:   Error Code: 1010 Data service is not available when device is in tethered and Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking mode   The only option I am given is "Dismiss"   Anybody know what this is and what's causing it? It's not causing any other problem other than being VERY annoying! Can I stop this somehow?   Thanks,   Dennis

Can’t Tether Imagio With Win 7 – Any Suggestions?!!

I am unable to get my HTC Imagio to connect to my Windows 7 laptop via the USB cable to use it as a modem so I can connect to the Internet while away from home. I have downloaded the latest version (7.3.2.2, 2506b) of VZW Access Manager that shows it provides compatability between my Imagio and Windows 7, but VZW Access Manager STILL refuses to recognize the phone. When I go into my phone and start Modem Link, my laptop indicates that it's installing drivers for my device, but then it always tells me that there was a problem installing them. If I go into device manager, under Other Devices, it lists Generic Serial twice with each having an exclamation point. When I right-click on them and choose Update Driver, then point the update to the "C:Program Files (x86)HTCWModem_InstallerWin7_64" folder, it starts to update the drivers but then tells me there was a problem installing them due to Windows being unable to verify they have the correct digital signature! I have been unable to tether this phone to my laptop for about 4 weeks now (I had NO problems using my previous phone, a Blackberry, as a modem with this PC!) and am my wits end! I am just about ready to take this phone back to Verizon and get something different, but would hate to do that as I otherwise am pretty happy with it! By the way, it connects to Windows Mobile Device Center just fine and syncs with Outlook without any problems whatsoever, but I just cannot get it to tether as a modem to this pC.   Does anyone have any suggestions before I return the phone?   Thank you,   Dennis

Bing With Turn-by-Turn Directions!!!! (Except on Verizon)

The latest version of Bing for Windows Mobile offers free turn-by-turn voice navigation....except for Verizon Wireless customers.  I can understand Verizon wanting to protect its revenue from VZ Navigator, but can't you at least be consistent?  If you let Motorola Droid customers use the Google Navigation, you should also let Windows Mobile customers use Bing Navigation.  We are paying the same for our data plans.

HTC TOUCH PRO 2 and BLUETOOTH TETHERING

Thanks au, I have the TP2 and could not figure out why I could not use Bluetooth tethering and Verizon Tech support said it is not supported on my phone. I figured it out with your help.   Bluetooth tethering is not supported with Microsoft Active Sync which now only works with 98,2000,ME and XP.   You need Vista or Windows 7 and Windows Mobile Device Center.   You do need to install WMDC first to install the drivers connect with USB and configure WMDC, then install VZW Access Manager for your device.   More info at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/default.mspx

Disappointed with Response to problem with Samsung Omnia

Friday contact Verizon customer support to address memory criticallty low condition on my Samsung Omnia told to do hard reset to install new software version. Up until 3:00 a.m. trying to install with no luck as it keeps getting hung up after device restart. (tried on 3 different computers Windows XP and Windows 2000). Call the following morning to discuss told problem with my equipment which is now out of warranty.   Phone still operable and low memory condition eliminated for now.   Now the #777 indictes it cannot make broadband connection because password and domain is no longer on device. I call Verizon Tech Support again and am told I can do a hard reset and not to add any email as this will cause the same condition.   I ask to speak to a supervisor none are available as they are all in a coaching training session and will contact me in 24 to 48 hours.   Options get a new phone or use the one I have with limited functtionality.   Frustrating that Verizon never informed me that a software upgrade was available to fix a known problem, and now I am out of warranty with limited options.   Any advice?

Inability To Tether HTC Imagio To Laptop With Windows 7 – NOT Happy!!!

I recently added a new line to my existing service in order to get an HTC Imagio. I had MANY problems with BOTH the Blackberry 9630 Tour and the 8530 Curve and was fed-up with the Blackberry phones, so I decided to try a Windows Mobiloe phone again. Anyway, Imagine my surprise when I got the phone and installed all the software, including VZ Access Manager, only to find that I was unable to tether the Imagio to my laptop as I could with the Blackberrys because my laptop has Windows 7 and there are currently NO drivers for the Imagio to use it with Windows 7!! I was stunned when I discovered this - how long have BOTH Windows 7 AND the Imagio been out?!! I drive a tractor-trailer for a living and need to be able to connect my laptop to the Internet to do banking, check maps for locations of my deliveries, etc - this is TOTALLY inexcusable!! Nowhere on Verizon's website or in there stores did it state that you could NOT use this phone as a modem with a Windows 7 PC. VZW customer service directed me to the VZW Access Manager website so that I could watch for the release of the drivers, which was targeted for "mid of April, 2010" Well, I have been unable to connect to the Internet for much of the last week due to travelling with my job, but I got on tonight and checked the status of the Imagio's Windows 7 driver, and guess what?!! It now simply states "check back for availability", and the HTC Incredible is now the FIRST HTC smartphone to have a Windows 7 driver - **bleep**?!! Wasn't that phone just recently released and hasn't the Imagio been out for some time now? C'mon Verizon, your customer support REALLY sucks - how about supporting products that people ALREADY have in their hands FIRST?!! To see that they've released Windows 7 drivers for the Incredible BEFORE the Imagio or Touch Pro2 has just got me fed-up and I'm seriously considering returning the Imagio and cancelling my other 3 lines and going over to Sprint!!   Hey, Verizon - can you hear me NOW?!!
