I have a new laptop with Windows 7. I would like to use my Omnia as a tethered modem when I am traveling. I’ve tried numerous solutions from different user boards to make this work without success. My problem is that I can install the VZ Access software successfully, but I cannot seem to get the drivers to install correctly. Note that I am able to connect as PDA and sync the device that way, just not as tethered modem. I realize that I need to change the Data Connection setting to “As the modem through USB” but it doesn’t recognize my phone. Any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone know how to change the directory path for files on the Omnia II. I have some files that I want on my phone if I sync them on my computer to my phone I have no memory I tried moving some of the programs that came with the phone to my storage. The shortcuts lose the path to the file. If there is not away of doing this is there away to take the file that I want to sync and sync them directly to my storage but I need to sync these files on a daily basis back and forth. Any ideas would be helpful.

I am a long time user of WM devices but this is something I haven’t run into yet. (as a note, I am currently running WM 6.1) A couple of months ago, after my phone froze and I was forced to do a hard reset, I ran into problems with getting my contacts back into my phone. Prior to the hard reset, I regularly synced my Touch Pro 2 with my PC using the standard vista mobile device center. I also had microsoft’s MyPhone backing up my contacts from my touch pro 2. After the had reset, I first attempted to restore the contacts on my phone from mircosofts MyPhone site. That seemed to work, the problems arose after I attempted to sync my touch pro 2 with my PC. The first attempted “sync” took hours (I have 2000+ contact for business…) and ultimately failed, leaving duplicates of every contact on my touch pro 2 (no duplicates were created on my PC. Now, with the release of WM 6.5 I am finally ready getting ready to address the duplicate contacts issue after I install WM 6.5 An important note; Since I haven’t successfully synced my touch pro 2 with my PC in several weeks, there are some contacts that are on my PC and not on my touch pro 2 and some on my touch pro 2 that are not on my PC After the WM 6.5 is finished being installed on mu touch pro 2, should I sync with my PC first, then restore through microsoft’s MyPhone? Or restore my touch pro 2 via microsoft’s MyPhone then sync with my PC? Is SPB backup something to consider to help me resolve this? Thanks for any assistance!!

I installed the MR1 update that is listed on the support site for the Imagio. Since installing this, my phone is running very warm and the battery only lasts a couple of hours at best. It appears as though there is a service running, or notifications are causing something to remain on resulting in the phone overheating and running down the battery. Also, the update causes the phone to beep multiple times when the Bluetooth headset is connected or disconnected. It’s annoying as heck. Do we have access to the original ROM that shipped with the phone for reinstall? Gerry
I have a Motorola Q Phone that is about 4 years old. I had it syncing properly with my Microsoft Outlook but starting having a lot of trouble with that software application so I switched to a Gmail account where I store my Contacts and Calendar. I don’t have the Web on my phone because I don’t need it but I think that may be where the problem lies. I think you may need the Web activated in order to get it to sync. Any feedback?
TP2 owner here with a buttdialing issue. I always lock my phone after a conversation and keep it in a pouch on my hip. Several of my friends have said recently that I have buttdialed them at various times. I have noticed that sometimes (?) after I’ve received a message that my phone is now unlocked. I can only assume that once the phone is unlocked that my normal movements are enough to initiate calls as the phone is pressed against the side of my body. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix. I’ve taken to dialing my home phone just to make sure it is the last number in the dialing queue. It is not a good feeling when you take your phone out of the pouch and see that it is not locked. I saw a post about this subject months ago when I first started researching the TP2, but unfortunately I didn’t capture the text and can’t find the reference. I’ve had the phone since October ‘09. Still on WinMo 6.1. Haven’t really thought too much about upgrading — unless that will help with this dialing issue. Thanks… edison
I’m enjoying my new Samsung Omnia II, but as usual, I’ve run into a couple (so far) of quirks. As with any new toy/phone…. First, I’ve found the Gmail app for Windows Mobile, but when I download the Gmail install file, I can’t see that it has installed. I can find the “Mail.jar” file, but when I click it, I get a message that amounts to telling me to open the file with an application. Anyone have an ideas? Also, the ringtones begin with an ascending-style tone, even though it’s set to “Vibrate & Ring”. Actually, I don’t know if that’s a bad thing, it’s certainly not a jolt when the phone rings. But I wonder if this can be remedied. Thanx, Geri O
Sorry if this was discussed in another topic, but I was wondering how you can improve the quality of youtube on this phone. Just the default player is horrible for both sound and video quality? Do I need to install a different player or cab? Thanks again.

Good Morning, My name is Eric, and I am a Sales Manager for a Chevrolet dealership. My customer has an HTC Imagio through Verizon. When he tries to sync his phone with a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, the phone slows down to a crawl, then eventually freezes. He can sync it with a Motorola clip-on unit (unsure of model) and everything works fine. But again, when he tries to sync with pickup, slows to crawl. I have tried the to sync the phone with the pickup, same result. I have tried my personal phone (iPhone), and several of my sales force’s phones (various phones, Motorola Rzr, couple of different Samsungs, a couple of Blackberries) including various smartphones, and none have had any problems like this. I have read on another posting site where someone had “fixed” his “pim.vol” file and that seemed to fix everything. Does anyone have any other solutions that I can try? Is there a hotfix either from Verizon or HTC about this that I can’t seem to find? I have looked and consulted with GM about this, and we can’t seem to find anything this specific. Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from people.
