Palm
I currently have the palm treo 755p. I like that fact that I can create word or excel documents and then send them to my personal computer. I’m looking into getting a new phone and I was wondering if the Droid or the Devour can do document exchange?
Hi I would like to know and everyone else why we was the only one’s that did not get the webOS 1.4 update? I don’t think thats right at all the old palm pre’s get there’s before the palm pre plus do. The palm pre plus was showing at the Palm’s Presentation at the 2010 CES with webOS 1.4 I would think it would have came install on the pre plus already as a new owner of the palm pre plus i’m not happy. That’s was false advertise at the when the palm pre came out it show the webOS 1.4 verison. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn6oNKVd29g&feature=related
My question is, will I be able to play converted DVD’s ( to which ever format would be required ) on my Palm Treo 700W Windows Media Player ? Of course by using an SD Memory card. TIA
I recently upgraded from a basic clamshell phone all the way up to the droid eris, and am not sure it’s right for me, yet there are things I love about it (esp pandora radio–brand new to me–as well as size and look). I wanted some advice on what other options might fit my needs. The only problem is my “needs” may expand once I get used to what a smartphone can do. Know that I am partial to Samsung, only because I’ve never met a samsung phone that didn’t reliably get a signal where I live and travel. I considered whether Rogue or Omnia II might fit? Palm Pre Plus? Here is what I need and might want: –good phone functionality (poor Verizon reception in some parts of the house, Eris has dropped a call in the car which I’ve never experienced before with Verizon) –true hands free voice dialing (lacking in the eris) via bluetooth headset, I’m on the road a lot –organizer with some means of backing up address book and calendar that won’t become obsolete when the specific device does –music library, pandora radio a big plus –quality camera –microsoft document viewing/editing a plus –mapping a plus, although I have a standalone GPS navigator –I love my time/weather widget on the eris (kind of silly, but true) –as slim and lightweight as possible, comfortable to hold –so far, I’ve not gotten much into texting or email, or even web browsing on my phone (but when traveling, I would probably use these features–I’m in the process of switching over from AOL to another email service, probably gmail if I keep the Eris) Any thoughts? And does anyone know how likely true hands-free dialing options are to come to the Droid phones?

This is a new phone for me and I’m using the install DVDs. One option is to download the available upgrade. Will I really lose all my customization and downloaded applications? Is this typical? I don’t recall this being the result with my Palm Pre (which I hated for other reasons). I haven’t done to much to the phone, yet, but I can’t believe I’ll lose what I’ve done. TIA

My contract with Sprint is up in April. I have just a phone, no bells & whistles. I’d like my first smartphone. My family & my husband’s family are all on VW and I’ve heard nothing but great things about coverage. I’d love an Iphone but honestly I’ve not been into stores to try any phones yet, the one thing that’s luring me (besides marketing, I’ll admit) is that I could play my Itunes downloads on my Iphone (correct? but not on other phones?). I’ve read speculations about Iphone coming to VW mid-year. Should I go month-to-month with Sprint until this happens and get the Iphone if offered then on VW? Another point, if there are ‘tweaks’ to make the IPhone compatible (for lack of a more tech-savvy word) with VW’s network, would it be safer to wait until any kinks are worked out? One last consideration is I have about 10 years’ calendar data and all my contacts on a Palm Pilot, and I would like this data to pull into my new phone. Is a Palm phone my only option or can my contacts & calendar come into a Droid or IPhone? Thanks!

I am looking to get a smartphone, either Android or Palm Pre Plus. Before I go into the store and start asking questions to the Verizon staff I was hoping to get some first hand information from real users. I currently have a Alias2 and can get my verizon email through mobil web mail. On the smartphones can I also get my verizon email or do I have to use gmail or outlook or some other service. Thanks for any information or help anyone can offer.
