Hi all, I just got a Treo Pro (upgrade from 700p) and I am getting used to the Win OS from Palm OS. I am trying to downlaod apps and when it asks where to store, it gives me FIle location., and I put them on the storage card or device, but when I try to open them it states I "need to have an application associated with i.e snappyseeker_ota_en. Run the application first, then open this file from within the application" I have had a devil of a time trying to figure out what Application I’m supposed to use or install. Doesn’t matter if prc or some other ending. I still get teh standard message of "There is no application assiciated with Opera Mini.( another I"m trying out)Run the application first, then open this file within the application" How do I get these downloads to one central locale and install them. Sorry I"m so breathy- but this Win OS is starting to drive me a little nuts trying to learn. ONly had phone 5 days and need a good manual on these type of things. Thanks

I was pondering the other day about my 800w and the problematic phone it seems to be. I was thinking it’s probably not fair to blame Palm entirely for all the hangs ups, the need to soft reset every other day, or other problems that you might read about on the internet, I’m sure Mr. Gates played a huge role as well, what with the solid OS windows mobile is.. So then I got to thinking what if Palm created some way that we might update as it were, our 800w’s to this new WebOS. I’ve never used this new operating system and don’t know much about it except the hype and that it doesn’t do voice command, (something I hope palm is working on vigorously…) but perhaps Palm could toss it around in some thinktank and decide for themselves. Any thoughts on this? Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)
I have a Tungsten E2. Everytime I try to access "Documents" I get this message: Fatal Alert: Memory Mgr.c, Line: 3751, Free Handle. I have tried the reset button and did a HotSync and still have the problem. Any suggestions? Post relates to: Tungsten E2
Can anyone help me find a USB Cable for my Tungsten E2 Palm handheld. Post relates to: Tungsten E2
I purchased a GSM Treo Pro from eBay… on the third day of use, I pulled it out of my pocket and the phone was off and the battery should have had around 80% (which as you all know doesn’t happen to a treo unless the battery is dead). I took the phone home and put it on the charger – nothing. Not even a red charging light. I pulled the battery out and plugged it in and the red light came on, so I assumed it was the battery. I then purchased another battery for it and it came today – but it’s obvious to me now that it’s not the battery’s fault. What can I do? Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? My Trio 700p (Verizon) is stuck on some type of RGB Test screen. When I had my mem card installed it initially asked about an upgrade but said that There was no upgrade available on the memory card and went back to the RGB Test. Tried reset but didn’t seem to work. I no longer have the book. Any help? Post relates to: Treo 700p (Verizon)
