I was just sent this,and I'm sure many of you have seen it before. But if you hadn't I wanted to share it with you. It touched my heart. BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS IN THE NEWSPAPER OR ON THE 6 O'CLOCK NEWS" ~ The Sailor Pictured Below Is, Mike Monsoor Navy Petty Officer, PO2 (Petty Officer, Second Class) EOD2 (Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Second Class) "MIKE MONSOOR" April 5th, 1981 ~ September 29th, 2009 Mike Monsoor, Was Awarded "The Congressional Medal Of Honor" Last Week, For Giving His Life In Iraq , As He Jumped On, And Covered With His Body, A Live Hand Grenade, Saving The Lives Of A Large Group Of Navy Seals That Was Passing By! ~ During Mike Monsoor's Funeral, At Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery , In San Diego , California .. The Six Pallbearers Removed The Rosewood Casket From The Hearse, And Lined Up On Each Side Of Mike Monsoor's Casket, Were His Family Members, Friends, Fellow Sailors, And Well-wishers. The Column Of People Continued From The Hearse, All The Way To The Grave Site. What The Group Didn't Know At The Time Was, Every Navy Seal (45 To Be Exact) That Mike Monsoor Saved That Day Was Scattered Through-Out The Column! ~ As The Pallbearers Carried The Rosewood Casket Down The Column Of People To The Grave Side. The Column Would Collapse.. Which Formed A Group Of People That Followed Behind. ~ Every Time The Rosewood Casket Passed A Navy Seal, He Would Remove His Gold Trident Pin From His Uniform, And Slap It Down Hard, Causing The Gold Trident Pin To Embed Itself Into The Top Of The Wooden Casket! Then The Navy Seal Would Step Back From The Column, And Salute! ~ Now For Those, Who Don't Know What A Trident Pin Is, Here Is The Definition! After One Completes The Basic Navy Seals Program Which Lasts For Three Weeks, And Is Followed By Seal Qualification Training, Which Is 15 More Weeks Of Training, Necessary To Continue Improving Basic Skills And To Learn New Tactics And Techniques, Required For An Assignment To A Navy Seal Platoon. After successful completion, Trainees Are Given Their Naval Enlisted Code, And Are Awarded The Navy Seal Trident Pin. With This Gold Pin They Are Now Officially Navy Seals! Why do Bad things happen to good people
Folks, My wife recieved a phone call from one of her dearest friends last night. This friend is a cancer surviver for over 5 years. Lately she has complained of eye strain and had gone to the Dr.. The results of testing came back that she has a cancerious mass in and behind her eye. surgery is being scheduled at this time. This friend doesn't derserve this. This is a terrible blow to her family, to say the least. One works their entire life and then things like this shatter those long held dreams. My wife is taking this hard. As for me (and maybe this is a man's way of dealing) I want to know what is it that I can do for everyone involved? I know I've left out a lot of info, but what I would like is, how have others here dealt with this type of tragedy? :smileysad:

Opinion on the Starbucks situation.
I think it is pathetic that some one would order a hot drink then complain about it. You know the drink is hot, it says caution all over the cup, not to mention it is tea. Tea has always been served hotter than coffee, it has to steep. And as far as the settlement amount, I will blow my head off if that SOB gets more than a few grand. I am a disabled ex electrician of 18 years, and I was used and abused by every company I worked for. As soon as I got hurt, work comp basically screws you and laws protect the companys not the employees. If you get hurt on the job in Colorado, you might as well kiss your dreams and asspirations of life out the window. I have a back that is so messed up and it is all from work, and all I have ever received for multiple injuries combined is about $32,000 bucks, and keep in mind these injuries are permanent and have altered my life permanently for the rest of my life. I am only 37, I have multiple disc problems in my lumbar, and constant pain that hurts me all day, dics degeneration in the rest of my back due to the injuries. I am forever screwed, I can't take care of my family like I would normaly be able to, and these are major set backs, I only wish I had a thired degree burn all over my chest, at least it would go away!!!! Try staying in constant REAL pain all day and all night all the time and you have no money because you have been screwed by liers and scam artists that work for insurance companies that come up with crafty ways of screwing you. I say this guy is a whiney **bleep** complainer and is a gold digger. Give that kind of money to some one who needs it, some one that is losing their house as a direct result of the accident. Poor baby, get back in your car and cry.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My accidents all related to work and a care accident shortly after comp let me go (still in very poor condition and not fixed at all). I just can't believe one would ask for so much money for such a minor injury. My injury has me on morphine, xanax, valium, and I have been on all this crap for over a year. One lie from my boss to his comp carrier and BLAM your done for. So this guy gets a "Grow a set and be a man, whimp". Your a gold digger and so shall you make you bed so shall you sleep in it. GO STARBUCKS FOR ALLOWING OPEN CARRY OF HAND GUNS AND RESPECTING THE HARD WORKING LAW ABIDING CITIZENS THAT ARE SIMPLY EXERCISING A RIGHT WE HAVE HAD SINCE THE BEGINNING OF OUR NATION. Get a good lawyer Starbucks and tell that guy to stuff it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sister is in surgery, has been since 9:30 am, we ( the family) are waiting,,,we have heard from them once, she is doing well....the veins have been harvested and they are now working on the heart,,,,Praying and waiting,,, will check in when I can, Im on the Hospital internet right now. Well I have and I am not sure to do bout it Because there's a communetiaction be tween My Daughter and him.I think I've losing Sleep over it. I've been up to this point, Is please Pray for my family that everything gose Ok, I need all I can get. this is the secont guy and I don't want her to make the wrong chooses like before.

Asking for prayers
My sweet Sugarbutt's mother has taken ill and is in the ICU. Sugar and her son just left and are on their way back home to be with her and the family. I'm asking all our friends and family here to please say a prayer or thirty for her mother and for Sugar's safe trip to and from. I miss them already. :smileysad:

In need of GOOD loving foster parents for our 2 cats!!!!
Our family is in a crisis and in desperate need of someone to take in our 2 male cats that have been neutered . They are father and son . They are our family pets and we've had them both since birth. They are nearly 5 yrs old and 6. We live on the westside of Jacksonville . I don't wanna give them up but we are about to be homeless basically and the place we are trying to move into has high probability of not being ready for us for a few weeks or more:( We have no family here and no friends that are in a position the take them in:(::: So if anyone out there that knows someone or has a solution for me PLEASE let me know. I fear taking them to a shelter for they could possibly get euthinized.

Cut down eating to once a week
I am so tired of thinking about what I am going to cook! I am all for "once a week"!! Wouldn't that be nice? This everyday thing is boring. My husband is a carnivore, he will eat six lamb chops tonight...more if I had them. I get so bored with food. I live on crackers and sauteed spinach. Who has a problem here??? I am ready to start serving prepared frozen dinners. I spoiled my family with good, healthy food and now I want to be done!! Off to COOK!!
