What should I look for when buying a modern old house?

By modern old house I mean it was built with indoor plumbing, electricity and natural gas for heating and cooking. Probably built sometime in the 40′s or 50′s and is on piers (pillars), has or had an attic fan for ventilation/cooling.

Is there a check list on how to inspect a house before buying somewhere on the net that I can print?

cooking with what is in your home instead of buying ingredients to suit recipe. I am looking for a good site.

I am looking for a good web site that I can get recipes using stuff already in your home as apposed to buying ingredients to suit the recipe. I have an over abundance of certain things, and I am running out of ideas. Thanks
