My Talented Husband

My Husband (Silly1) is very talented. He  can do wonderful sketches , paintings and sculptures. He drifted away from it for many years and the only time he would draw or do anything creative was when he helped our children with art projects for school and then our 2 grandson's. Now with the arrival of our new granddaughter my daughter asked him to paint some murals on the nursery wall. Well you know a Daddy can't say no to his little girl so I wanted to show you what he painted.     This one is on the wall beside the crib. He has a white scarf between the bears that he has the babies name on. He painted the name as soon as the baby was born. The name is missing from the picture and so are some flowers at their feet and flowers coming out of the trumpet.

Does Elin Woods deserve a $750 million dollar divorce settlement?

I just read that Elin Woods was demanding a $750 million dollar settlement, full custody of the children, and refusing to sign a confidentiality clause. I think this is nothing more than legalized robbery. The  article goes on to say she wants things to be amicable because of the children. I don't see how this can work out to be friendly when she is being so demanding. What happened to the pre-nuptial agreement? Was it voided with an infidelity clause?

Was I wrong ?

A young neighbor of mine  called me on the phone about an hour ago. She has a 12 month old baby boy. She asked me if I would call my daughter, who is an RN at Children's hospital, because her little boy was acting very lethargic and wasn't responding to her like he usually did. So I called my daughter and she called my neighbor back. After talking to the girl my daughter told her to take the little boy to the ER and my daughter would meet her there ,because my daughter felt he needed to be seen by a Doctor. She wanted to meet the girl there to give her some support. Well my daughters MIL just called me and I told her what happened. Well she started yelling at me that I shouldn't have disturbed my daughter since my daughter and her husband were at a restaurant having dinner  out for their anniversary. I don't feel like I did something wrong and my daughter didn't seem like she minded my calling her for her help.Do you think it was wrong of me to disturb a dinner, while a child was ill ?

My Husband doesn’t help me at all.

When I married my Husband over 40 years ago I thought we had an agreement between us. I would help him find what ever he misplaces and he would make sure I didn't go overboard shopping.Well he is not holding up his side of the bargain. I first noticed it when we had our children, but now that we are Grandparents ,it seems like he doesn't even try to help me stop shopping. It was bad enough when we just had our 2 Grandson's,but now that a little girl is on her way,he gets more excited than I do when the UPS man shows up at the door.No matter what I show him he immediately says "Buy It". How do I get him to hold up his side of the agreement, and could you please tell me before we wind up living on the streets.

I’m back from visiting family-I’ve missed you all!

Hello to all of my coffee shop friends. I've missed you all so much this last week.   We left last Sunday for Raleigh, North Carolina. It was a working trip for my husband, he had classes all week (bummer). We used the time after his classes to go visit my father, uncle and aunt in Highpoint, NC. We had dinner at a Chinese restaurant on Wednesday night and I really enjoyed seeing them all. On Friday, we went to visit my cousin and her children, we went to a park nearby and had a ball riding go carts. :smileyvery-happy:Thursday was my 21st wedding anniversary. My husband and I decided to celebrate by treating them to the park visit and it was so worth it, we had a great time. Our children got along so well it was like they had known each other all their lives. I can't wait until this summer for another visit. Saturday, we stopped in Georgia and visited with my husbands sister, her husband and our nephew. They fired up the grill for us and we ate great food and talked for hours:smileyhappy: We returned home last night, exhausted, but happy. We took pictures and I'm working on getting them downloaded and posting them to share with you. It was a busy week and we had fun, but I missed the coffee shop. I'll see you all in future posts, hopefully it'll be a while before Im MIA for a whole week.((((((((HUGS)))))))), IV   Message Edited by 2ivinlife on 04-19-2010 02:48 PM

New credit card

My son is 18 and just got his first credit card.  We have always told our children that if you charge it, you pay it off.  Will he establish credit if he pays off his balance every month?  We don't want to see him carry a balance and add interest if he can pay it off every month.

Reason surrenders to heart when lending children cash

Reason surrenders to heart when lending children cash
DEAR BRUCE: I’ve been remarried for about two years now. My husband has a daughter in her mid-20s. At that age you would expect her to be a responsible adult. However, she’s been borrowing money from her dad since she was 17 and has never paid him back.
