Since my daughter was about 6 months old I’ve been selling the clothes and even toys she grows out of on Ebay. I’ve probably made over $ 1000 just selling things like that. Anything I would normally give away I just sell instead. I’m just curious if anyone else did this as well. And if not I wanted to let others know how easy it is to do!! They don’t charge a lot to sell and it’s pretty simple to start. Since I’ve become a stay at home mom it keeps me busy and it’s an easy way to bring in some extra income. I even sell our clothes we don’t wear anymore. It’s a good way to get rid of all the “stuff” in your home.
After I had my first I sold everything.. not planning on having another.. sure enough a year later hubby was whispering in my ear “let’s have a baaaaby.. come on….” so here I am again! But this time it’s a boy, so it’s not too bad I got rid of mostly everything-can you say overboard pink with my girl? Haha

6 Thoughts on Moms-have you ever thought of selling your LO’s clothes on ebay?

I haven’t sold clothes but have sold baby toys and items my son grew out of it. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a lot of money. I’ve been even less successful selling my own clothes. It’s great that you’ve managed to make so much money though.

I have sold some things on ebay and craigslist, too. It’s a great way to make some money if you put the correct shipping costs. I have made that mistake before and not charged enough. Ugh. I sold some of my maternity clothes, too, and those brought in some good money! I did keep most of the baby clothes, though, because I knew I’d get to use them again. I love ebay, though! 🙂

I’ve never bothered buying brand names for my kids, and they also tend to wear their clothes more than once or twice! I’ve bought lots of lovely things for them on ebay, but never had any luck selling – if it isn’t a trendy label and doesn’t look completely brand new, nobody wants to know.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that you are getting an income and reuse from your daughter’s clothes. I just wouldn’t want anyone to waste time and listing fees putting up visibly used supermarket clothes – because nobody will buy them.

I have but I also thought I should hang on to them for the next baby, YOu get about 1/3 of the cost of baby clothes back when you sell them and when you buy new ones again its just a big ol waste of money, so I’ll sell when I’m done having babies.
