I am Canadian and want to buy a house in California. Just want to know any paper work or legal authority requirement to own a house? Any attorney/lawyer office or web addresses that I can obtain the information, please include here. Thank you!

    you just need money! people buy vacation homes in other countries all the time.

    You can buy anything cash that you want to buy, however, if you want a mortgage, you will need an appropriate Visa and/or green card.

    Edit:
    Contrary to what Ms Landlord said, you DO IN FACT need a visa or green card to obtain mortgage financing in this country.

    You don’t need anything, even a VISA. Our Constitution prohibits discrimination based on nationality. Any one from any where can buy a house.

    You will however still need a VISA to legally live in it.
