Atleast that is what the broker/agents are trying to convince us about. In the house that we have entered into contract to buy, there is a new fiurnace and A/c installed. From day I had been asking for a copy of the permit. They kept telling me that they will soon scan it and send it to us. Based on good faith, we went ahead and ordered inspections and appraisal. Come the day to remove contingency, we find out that there is indeed no permit for the work and hence all the convincing that it is not uncommon. They have agreed to initiate the permit process, but no guarantees that they will undertake any rework if city requires it to bring it to compliance. What do the forumers think?
