My mother wishes to transfer her rental properties to my sister and I now rather than wait until her death; however, I’m concerned about the ramifications to both of our personal assets in the event a tenant claims wrongful injury on one of the properties and sues. We have yet decided how to split the property and was wondering if a trust, LLC, or proprietorship was in order. Any help by a qualified individual (please list your source) would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
