Question about memory and smart phones
I would appreciate any help. I am a physician and I basically use by smartphone for work. I have multiple medical applications on the phone. I have used a palm for a long time. I brought a Blackberry Storm. I am now ready for a new phone. The Blackberry storm did not work well for me because it lacked enough memory. Most of my applications use main memory and not the sd card. For my next smartphone I need a lot of main memory. I think the storm has 256. When I reviewed the other phones I like the droid, but the memory issue is confusing to me. They discuss ROM memory RAM memory and flash memory. I already know that the sd card is not very useful for me, but I am unsure which droid has the most "main memory" for my applications. I also like going onto the internet and getting Emails and Text messages on my phone. Which phone is best for me between the palm or droid lines. Thank you

Attention all Pam device owners Palm is looking for a buyer
This has made the news on several tech sites and as far as I know the transaction hasn't been completed yet but apparently Palm did not do wellwith both versions of the Pre and Pixi phones respectively on all the carriers. the company is said to be loking for someone to buy them out. I wonder what will happenw ith the phones if/when that happens?

Tethering / Alternatives to the Droid
I kind of wanted a Motorola Droid but tethering is not yet supported for that. So I guess I need to look at alternatives such as the Blackberry or HTC Touch Pro. Any suggestions? I want the new phone to tether and replace the air card I now use for telecommuting. My 2-year renewal comes up on 5/17/2010 so I was considering upgrading my Palm Centro ( in 700 minute family voice only plan now) to a Moto Droid. But it would have to replace the USB 727 air card I now pay $60/month for -- that is used heavily for telecommuting and averages 4GB per month. I was willing to get 2 data plans on the Droid as long as it didn't exceed the $60/month I now pay on the air card. I emailed VZW and here is the response: "our Droid devices do not support the Mobile Broadband Connect feature at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. However, our other Blackberry/Smartphone devices do support this feature. The Mobile Broadband Connect feature provides Internet access utilizing your handset as a modem by tethering it to your laptop via a USB cable and VZAccess Manager Software, which is available for download at the following website: VZAccess Manager Mobile Broadband Connect offers 5GB of data usage for Internet browsing, e-mail and intranet access, downloading, uploading or streaming of audio/video and VoIP. If you exceed the 5GB allowance, you will be billed 5 cents per each additional megabyte (MB) used. Airtime does not apply when using Mobile Broadband Connect.

Document exchange
I currently have the palm treo 755p. I like that fact that I can create word or excel documents and then send them to my personal computer. I'm looking into getting a new phone and I was wondering if the Droid or the Devour can do document exchange?

Why No Palm Pre Plus webOS 1.4
Hi I would like to know and everyone else why we was the only one's that did not get the webOS 1.4 update? I don't think thats right at all the old palm pre's get there's before the palm pre plus do. The palm pre plus was showing at the Palm's Presentation at the 2010 CES with webOS 1.4 I would think it would have came install on the pre plus already as a new owner of the palm pre plus i'm not happy. That's was false advertise at the when the palm pre came out it show the webOS 1.4 verison. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn6oNKVd29g&feature=related

New to smartphones–which one is best?
I recently upgraded from a basic clamshell phone all the way up to the droid eris, and am not sure it's right for me, yet there are things I love about it (esp pandora radio--brand new to me--as well as size and look). I wanted some advice on what other options might fit my needs. The only problem is my "needs" may expand once I get used to what a smartphone can do. Know that I am partial to Samsung, only because I've never met a samsung phone that didn't reliably get a signal where I live and travel. I considered whether Rogue or Omnia II might fit? Palm Pre Plus? Here is what I need and might want: --good phone functionality (poor Verizon reception in some parts of the house, Eris has dropped a call in the car which I've never experienced before with Verizon) --true hands free voice dialing (lacking in the eris) via bluetooth headset, I'm on the road a lot --organizer with some means of backing up address book and calendar that won't become obsolete when the specific device does --music library, pandora radio a big plus --quality camera --microsoft document viewing/editing a plus --mapping a plus, although I have a standalone GPS navigator --I love my time/weather widget on the eris (kind of silly, but true) --as slim and lightweight as possible, comfortable to hold --so far, I've not gotten much into texting or email, or even web browsing on my phone (but when traveling, I would probably use these features--I'm in the process of switching over from AOL to another email service, probably gmail if I keep the Eris) Any thoughts? And does anyone know how likely true hands-free dialing options are to come to the Droid phones?

HTC TP2 Downloading Wipes All Customization, etc.?
This is a new phone for me and I'm using the install DVDs. One option is to download the available upgrade. Will I really lose all my customization and downloaded applications? Is this typical? I don't recall this being the result with my Palm Pre (which I hated for other reasons). I haven't done to much to the phone, yet, but I can't believe I'll lose what I've done. TIA
