My stb keeps turning my tv off, but the stb does not go off.  It sometimes happens 6 or 7 times in an hour.   I have noticed the problem is worse during lunch time and between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.  I also have internet problems during the same time.   Don’t know why the time would matter, but it seems to.  My Mitsubishi TV is a DLP and the manual says that the tv powers off due to momentary power fluctuations. I bought a new surge protector when the problem started, but it did not help.   I have reset my router (which is on a surge protector) changed the cable from stb to tv, and from wall to stb.   I do not have this problem when using my DVD player. Also tried a surge protector.  I called tech support tonight.   Told him everything I had tried.  He said call an electrician.   I said that I didn’t need an electrician.  He put me on hold and came back and had me turn my router off and on and tell him what the lights were doing.  I did.  He said call an electrician.   I said I want Verizon  to come out and check my lines.  He put me on hold for 15 minutes.  Came back on the line and said HE COULD NOT send someone to check my lines, and I should call an electrician.   I had problems for months last winter.  I spent hours on the phone with tech support.  They sent two different stb’s, then a new router.  Finally they sent out a Verizon technician, and wow the problem was with …. my line.  I tried to tell them that from the beginning.  I have only had FIOS for 18 months, and most of the time I have had some type of problem.   I threatened to cancel my service tonight.  Still no help.   How do I get Verizon to take this seriously.   I don’t want to pay an electrician to come out and tell me my problem is not electrical, in order to get Verizon to take care of this.   Help me!!!!

Everything seems to be working from my tv with the exception that media manager only plays songs for about 15 seconds.  Anyone else having similar issues?

My digital settop box will only work with component cabling and optical cable to my Denon AV.  From there I go with HDM to the TV.  To make the switch to all HDMI from the box to the AV to the TV does there need to be a adjustment to the Verizon box?  Or does it sense which out put is being used?   Or might the problem be that I need to tell the Denon AV where it should receive it’s tv signal?   Or both?   Thanks!

I’m wondering if there is a way to tranfer video from my FiOS DVR (Mororola QIP 7216 1) to my computer’s hard drive.  My computer is an HP running Windows Vista 64-bit.  I’m particularly interested in being able to archive college football games this season.   If this is possible, will I need to convert the video format to view it on my computer?   Thanks in advance.

I have been experiencing the same handshake issues that many others have with the 7216 DVR.  Does anyone know when an update will be released to resolve this or should I just go and try to get my 7216 replaced with a 6416?

Still can’t get Video to work, but that is a different issue. Music always plays in alpha order instead of track order. Anyone else have this issue?

So sorry to open yet another thread on the MM.  But most of those thread jump all over the place.  My MM runs the photo slide show as it suspose to I dont do the video   my concern is the MP3’s   I can not for the life of me get music from my computer to play on the TV.  In the MM list i see all my files for music, i can click them and then on the screen i get a bar showing it playing but no sound come’s out.   I dont have anything fancy hooked up, i "believe" i have just a "basic set up".  the files play just fine on my computer   If i can get this fixed IM LEAVING VERIZON and going back to COX……. hahahahahahaha  (Im just kidding) just wanted to put that in there.   Seriously, has anyone had any luck?  I am running Vista Pre Home and the router verizon gave me, i have updated to the most resent version of MM.  its not a deal breaker for me, i like that fact that we are suspose to be able to do it, but my life wont end if it dont.    But if someone has some suggestions about being able to play the MP3’s through my MM then please past it along to me.   thanks folks,,, Jake

Having a debate with a co-worker.  I said the FIOS TV controllers "needed" or are controlled by the wireless router Verizon uses (currently an Adaptec).   He says no you don’t need that connectivity and the programming is controlled over the coax.   Can I get a definitive anwser?  Explaining exactly what part the router actually plays in the whole spectrum for viewing.   Thanks!

After constant problems with the "intermittent drop of signal” whether I used HDMI or component cables, the worst programming guide accuracy I have ever witnessed,  and of course the lack of recording space,  I bit the bullet and bought a TIVO HD and an external hard drive and my total storage capability is now 93 hours of HD programming.  The cost was approximately $350 with tax for both (cheapest place to buy the TIVO was on the phone at TIVO).   The results after having the cable card installed:  Everything is perfect.  Customer service has been wonderful.  If this changes, I will post the news.  I have absolutely no gripes except I should never have reached the point to where I had to spend the money.   Such is life.   I am going to give it another 30 days and if it works out I will be ordering the TIVO HDXL to replace my other 7216.

Over the last several weeks, our FIOS HD DVR/Receiver seems to drop both audio and video several times per hour. The TV screen simply goes to black for about 3-5 seconds, then the program resumes.  We’re also seeing problems when programs are recorded: on playback, the video will suddenly freeze, then begin playing for about 2-3 seconds, then freeze again.  This cycle continues until we simply quit and delete the recorded program.  We’ve tried everything, including shutting down the receiver and unplugging it for a few minutes.  Anyone having similar problems — and how can we resolve this?
